Assignment 15

mocoNews.net - Report: Text Messaging Will Continue To Be The Darling Of Mobile Data Revenues

The article I chose to write about this semester is on the ever-growing use of text messages or also known as SMS.  As we all know ever since text messaging came out it has been a huge hit throughout the world.  This article brings forth the numbers and future of the text messaging industry.  In this report they predict that in the year 2013 text messaging will double from $130 billion to $260 billion.

Text messaging accounts for 60% of the phone market.  These report stats that America uses double the amount of text messages then Europe.  I can completely understand why text message has becoming the number one way of communicating on a mobile cell phone.  People do not want to talk to anyone these days, they just want to say one or two things and not carry on a conversation.  This is also due to the fact that America is a lazy nation.  Therefore we take the lazy route of not talking and just typing on our phones.

In my opinion text messaging is a great invention, but I wish that our generation were not so lazy.  I miss talking to my friends on the phone.  I remember when I would talk to my friends on the phone everyday after school but now I just text message them because it is easier.  I hat how I have become lazier due to the fact technology makes everything easy.  So in the end, technology is just going to keep getting better and making us lazier so therefore text messaging is on the rise.  The only country that text messaging is not number one is in Japan that is because they are huge fans of e-mailing.
